Back to school?
Hybrid, remote, or in-person, we could all use some (chemical-free) sanity right about now, because let's face it - there is entirely far too much to freak out about, particularly in this new-world-order-back-to-school landscape. In New York as of today, the NYC DOE just postponed the opening of school by a week + a 3-day orientation, teachers seem like they won't be striking and kids will learn in pods from seemingly random teachers. Each family has had to make their own descision regarding the blended model or 100% remote. Both options are fraught and it's difficult to feel hopeful for a good education this year. So, we'll spritz a lot of sanity around, freshen up our pits (taking a moment to enjoy the tingle), put on masks, push back shoulders, and soldier on!
Side note: suggested reading for tweens: "Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline and it's ominously foretelling, especially the virtual school part, only in that reality, virtual schools are far superior to the IRL ones!
